Troy ChavezChavez, Caulfield, Bivens named All-Region
December 13, 2011MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill defender Troy Chavez, midfielder Rury Caulfield, and forward Stephen Bivens have been named to the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America's NCAA Division II Men's All-Southeast Region teams. Chavez is a second team selection, while Caulfield and Bivens are third team selections.
Chavez, who has already been named Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region second team and South Atlantic Conference first team, led a Lions' defense that ended the 2011 season establishing new school records fewest goals allowed (15) and tying a school record for most shutouts (9).
Caulfield and Bivens were also named to the All-South Atlantic Conference first team squad during the postseason. Caulfield ranked second on the team with six goals and 15 points. Bivens, finished in the top 10 in the SAC in every major offensive statistical category.
