Lions Finish Tenth at SAC Championship
April 17, 2012CONOVER, N.C.-- The Mars Hill men's golf team finished in tenth place at the 2012 Food Lion SAC Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday at Rock Barn.
Mars Hill shot a 177-over to finish at 1041 in the three-round championship. The Lions were led by Dylan Payne, who shot a 37-over 253 to finish in 44th place.
Wingate shot a 13-over par 877 to take home the team championship. The Bulldogs finished 15-strokes ahead of second-place Newberry. Braden Jackson led Wingate with a four-over 220 to finish in second in the individual standings.
Newberry's Matthew Campbell shot rounds of 69, 71 and 75 for a final score of one-under 215 to take home the individual championship.
The SAC Championship concludes Mars Hill's season.
