Lions Wrap-Up Day Two at Hilton Garden Invitational
February 2, 2013WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—The Mars Hill women’s track and field team concluded competition at the Hilton Garden Invitational, which was held Friday and Saturday at the JDL Fast Track.
The Distance Medley team turned in one of the top finish of the day for Mars Hill. The team placed ninth with a time of 13:25.85. The team was made up of Jessica Viscusi, McKay Sharpe, Savannah Hulbert and Faith Trammell.

The 4 x 400 Meter Relay team placed 28th and was made up of Hulbert, Viscusi, Sharpe and Toccara Jefferies.
The top individual performance of the day belonged to Alexis Montgomery, who turned in the second best Division II time in the 200 Meter Dash. Her time of 26.77 was good enough for 43rd overall.
Heidi Hooker turned in the Lions top time in the One Mile Run with a time of 5:57.74. Danielle Metz placed eighth in Section 6 of the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:55.34.
The Hilton Garden Invitational included performers from NCAA Division I and II, as well as NAIA competitors. Performers included representatives from schools in the ACC, Atlantic Sun and Southern Conference.
Mars Hill will compete in the USC Gamecock Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Columbia, S.C.
