The righty didn’t issue a walk and wiggled out of a bases-loaded jam with two outs in the fifth inning to preserve the shutout.
The Tornados gained a 1-0 lead in the third when Chad Fisher scored on a throwing error after reaching on a fielder’s choice.
Champ Stuart walked with one out in the bottom of the eighth, stole second and third before scoring on a Kody Spencer sacrifice fly to put BC up 2-0 going into the 9th. Hamilton retired the Lions in order in the ninth to seal the victory.
Due to the forecast of inclement weather on Saturday, the Tornados and Lions will resume their series with a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, playing two seven-inning games beginning at 1 p.m.
