Virginia Tech Final Qualifier Results
March 2, 2013BLACKSBURG, VA.— The Mars Hill men’s track and field team turned in a strong performance at the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier, held Saturday at Rector Fieldhouse.
Alex Griggs turned in the Lions top finish, coming in fourth in the 3000 Meter Run with a time of 8:49.14. Derek Gibson added an eighth-place finish, while Brady Adcock finished 10th in the same event.
Isaiah Phyall placed 16th overall in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 53.98. Sophomore Isaac Phyall placed 19th in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 9.15.
Deandre Vines added an 11th place finish in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 22.87.
The event featured over 400 participants representing 50 institutions.
Mars Hill will compete in the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational, which begins Mar. 14 in Conway, S.C.
