Emily Stanley enters her first year as an assistant coach with the Mars Hill softball program. Stanley comes to MHC from Louisburg College where she served in the same capacity last season for the Hurricanes.

Prior to coming to Louisburg, Coach Stanley was at NCAA Division III Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. While there, she completed her Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences with a concentration in Sport Psychology. Coach Stanley worked with the varsity softball team at Ithaca for two years. Initially, she was brought on the staff as a sport psychology consultant, but later increased her role with the team and became an assistant coach.

Stanley completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Purchase College in Purchase, N.Y. Stanley became a prominent figure in the athletic community at Purchase College. She was a three-year varsity softball captain and received several honors including All-Conference for second-base, third-base, and utility. Additionally, Stanley received Purchase College honors including Most Valuable Player for three years, the Rookie of the Year Award, and the Leadership Award. Finally, she was named NEAC, Skyline, and Purchase College Student-Athlete of the Week a number of times. Throughout Stanley’s undergraduate career, she coached at several different clinics and gave individual pitching, fielding, and hitting lessons.
